How much does an AI design tool cost for a team of 5?
October 8, 2026Grafista Team
TL;DR
A 5-person team pays €10 to €72 a month on Grafista, because every Grafista plan includes unlimited users. Every other tool in this comparison charges per seat, so the same team pays at least €50 a month (Gamma Plus), €85 a month on Canva Business before its AI Pass, and €105 to €650 a month for Claude or ChatGPT team seats. Where vendors publish credit costs per design, Grafista Max works out to about €0.51 per generated design. Moda's Standard model lands at a similar €0.49 to €0.54 and its Lite model is cheaper at about €0.25, but Moda's minimum bill for 5 people is €135 a month. If your team produces up to about 140 designs a month, Grafista is the lowest total bill in this list.
How we compared
All prices are in euros, billed monthly, for 5 users. For per-seat tools, the monthly price is the seat price multiplied by 5. Yearly figures are 12 monthly payments, not annual-plan discounts.
We calculated designs per month only where the vendor publishes how many credits a design costs. Grafista and Moda publish this. Gamma, Canva, ChatGPT and Claude do not, so for those tools we explain what is and isn't published instead of guessing.
Designs per month, where it can be measured
Grafista charges 70 credits per design generation. Credits are shared by the whole team.
- Basic (1,000 credits): 14 designs a month, about €0.71 each
- Pro (2,000 credits): 28 designs a month, about €0.64 each
- Ultra (5,000 credits): 71 designs a month, about €0.56 each
- Max (10,000 credits): 142 designs a month, about €0.51 each
Moda publishes estimates per action: a social post costs about 60 credits on its Lite model, 120 on Standard and 180 on Pro. On paid plans every seat adds its credits to a shared team pool.
- Pro, 5 seats (30,000 credits): about 500 Lite, 250 Standard or 166 Pro social posts. Roughly €0.27, €0.54 or €0.81 per post
- Ultra, 5 seats (110,000 credits): about 1,833 Lite, 916 Standard or 611 Pro social posts. Roughly €0.25, €0.49 or €0.74 per post
Moda states these are rough estimates and that complex requests use more credits.
Gamma meters credits per slide and per image, and says the cost depends on length, complexity and model. It does not publish a fixed cost per generation. Third-party tests put a full presentation at around 40 credits, which would mean about 25 decks per seat per month on Plus.
Canva describes its AI allowance as a multiple of the Free plan (Business gets "20x more AI than Canva Free") and says Standard, Premium and Ultra AI tools use the allowance at different rates. There is no published number of AI designs per month.
ChatGPT and Claude Design use usage limits that reset on a time window. Neither publishes a number of images or designs per seat.
Grafista
Grafista generates fully editable designs: text, images, shapes and decorations are separate elements on a canvas editor, not a flattened image. For larger changes, an editing Agent is available to update the design for you. Finished designs can be downloaded as PDF or PNG, get published online with their own QR code and link.
You don’t even need prompt skills to create a beautiful design. You can use your brand kit or choose a Blueprint from the library to recreate it using your content.
Pricing is per workspace. Adding a sixth or a sixtieth person costs nothing.
Pros
- Unlimited users, brand kits, downloads and published designs on every plan
- One credit pool for the whole team
- A fixed 70 credits per design, so you know your monthly capacity before you pay
- Every generated design is editable element by element
- Generate designs in any language
Cons
- Static visuals only, no video or motion
- Basic covers 14 generations a month, which most 5-person teams will outgrow
- Max tops out at 142 designs a month but a custom plan is available upon request
Pricing
Basic €10 a month (1,000 credits), Pro €18 (2,000 credits), Ultra €40 (5,000 credits), Max €72 (10,000 credits). The price is the same for 1 user or 50. For a year: €120, €216, €480 or €864. Custom plans available upon request.
Canva
Canva is a template-first design editor. Canva AI 2.0 adds a chat assistant that builds and edits designs from a prompt. Business is Canva's team plan and is priced per person.
Pros
- The largest template and stock library in this comparison
- Team admin and brand kits with approval workflows
- AI tools included in the seat price, up to the monthly allowance
Cons
- Priced per person, with no volume discount
- The AI allowance is published as a multiplier, not a number, so you can't plan monthly output
- The AI Pass add-on costs €90 per person per month, more than the Business seat itself
Pricing:
Business for 5 people costs €85 a month (€1,020 a year). Adding AI Pass for all 5 adds €450 a month (€5,400 a year), for a total of €535 a month or €6,420 a year.
Gamma
Gamma generates presentations, documents and webpages from a prompt. Content is built from cards, where one card is one slide or one section of a page. Credits pay for generation, AI images, edits with its Agent and layout changes.
Pros
- Strong fit if most of your output is presentations
- Unused credits roll over, up to double the plan's monthly allowance
- Extra credits can be bought on paid plans and don't expire while the plan is active
Cons
- Priced per seat
- On Plus, Pro and Ultra, credits belong to each member, so one heavy user can't draw on a colleague's credits
- Credit cost per generation varies with length and model, so monthly output is hard to predict
- Built for decks and documents, not social posts or ads
Pricing:
For 5 seats, Plus costs €50 a month (1,000 credits per seat), Pro €120 (4,000 per seat), Ultra €430 (20,000 per seat) and Business €175 (10,000 per seat plus a shared workspace pool). For a year: €600, €1,440, €5,160 or €2,100.
Moda
Moda generates editable designs on a canvas: slides, social posts, documents, charts and motion graphics. It offers three AI models. Lite costs half the Standard rate and suits simple designs. Pro costs 1.5x Standard and is meant for complex layouts.
Pros
- Publishes credit estimates per design type, so you can plan output
- Credits pool across the whole team on paid plans
- The Lite model halves the cost of simple designs
- Supports motion graphics
Cons
- Priced per seat
- Moda says actual credit use can vary widely with design complexity
- The Pro model costs 1.5x and is the one recommended for the most complex designs
- Unused monthly credits don't roll over
Pricing
For 5 seats, Pro costs €135 a month (6,000 credits per seat, 30,000 pooled) and Ultra €450 a month (22,000 credits per seat, 110,000 pooled). For a year: €1,620 or €5,400.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT is a general assistant that also generates images inside the chat. A Business seat includes ChatGPT and Codex. Premium seats give 5x the usage of Standard seats and remove the five-hour usage limit.
Pros
- One subscription covers writing, research, coding and image generation
- Seat types can be mixed, so only heavy users need Premium
Cons
- Priced per seat
- Generated images are flat files so you can't move the headline or swap a photo as separate elements. Every change essentially costs you money.
- No published number of images per seat
Pricing
5 Standard seats cost €130 a month (€1,560 a year). 5 Premium seats cost €650 a month (€7,800 a year).
Claude Design
Claude Design generates designs through conversation and is included in Claude's Team plan, alongside the Claude apps and Claude Code. Anthropic meters it separately from chat, with its own weekly allowance, so design work doesn't use up chat limits.
Pros
- Included with a Claude Team seat, so teams already paying for Claude get it at no extra cost
- Design usage doesn't count against chat or Claude Code limits
Cons
- Priced per seat
- The weekly allowance isn't published as a number
- Designs are built as HTML pages. You can edit text and drag, resize and align elements on the canvas, but elements stay inside the page's layout structure. You can't place an element at any position you like, the way you can on a free-form design canvas.
Pricing
5 Standard seats cost €105 a month (€1,260 a year). 5 Premium seats, with 5x the usage of Standard, cost €525 a month (€6,300 a year).
Which is cheapest for a team of 5?
- Lowest monthly bill: Grafista Basic at €10. The cheapest per-seat option here is Gamma Plus at €50.
- Lowest bill for around 140 designs a month: Grafista Max at €72. Moda Pro covers more designs (about 250 on Standard) but costs €135.
- Lowest cost per design at high volume: Moda on its Lite model, at about €0.25 to €0.27 per social post, if simple designs are enough and you can commit to €135 a month or more.
- Cost of adding a sixth person: €0 on Grafista. About €10 on Gamma Plus, €17 on Canva Business, €21 on Claude Team Standard, €26 on ChatGPT Business Standard and €27 on Moda Pro.
Per-seat pricing means your bill grows with headcount even when your design output stays the same. Grafista prices by output instead, so a team of 5 and a team of 15 pay the same for the same number of designs.
